About
Welcome,
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Colorado with more than a decade of experience working with primarily refugee and immigrant communities. I am passionate about accessible and culturally-attuned mental health care. I have extensive training and experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, identity changes, LGBTQ+ identity considerations and experiences, sleep disturbance/insomnia, and intimate partner violence.
I enjoy engaging in the natural world and this is often present in my therapy work. We are not just bodies or minds, and I aim to honor and foster safety for your whole human self in our work together by integrating physical/somatic experiences and connection to nature and social supports throughout our work. We are also all cultural beings, and will work together to examine the nuances of culture, history, and family which impact your life and our therapeutic work together.
Personally, I am fourth- to sixth-generation European American (depending on the family line you follow) of primarily German and English heritage. This means Iām on a lifelong journey to divest from white supremacy values and ideologies, and invest in the values which bring deeper connection and meaning. I live with a visual impairment, identify as queer, and am on the high sensitivity spectrum. Eating long meals with people I love, spending time outdoors, reading, laughing with my spouse, and cuddling with my beagle are some of my favorite ways to feel completely human these days.
