Consultation
I am passionate about promoting accessible and culturally-informed mental health care. The field of psychology has a long history of abusing and devaluing minoritized populations and many of us are working hard to grow beyond that history to create spaces where anyone can feel seen, respected, valued, and helped.
I would love to join your group practice, clinic, university program, or agency on your journey to developing inclusive and anti-oppression-based practices through speaking and consultation. I have provided consultation and training to state government agencies, medical and mental health clinics, university training programs, international and national professional conferences, and various agencies on topics spanning:
-
Language access and working with interpreters in mental health care
-
Considerations for mental health providers working with refugees and asylum-seekers
-
Cultural considerations when working with AAPI communities in mental health care
-
“Off the couch” interventions such as gardening, art, and yoga
-
“Saying the Wrong Thing” - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approach to having important conversations with the people you care about in life
